Official Rules
Official Rules: NBA season Championship
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Free-play entries only.
1. Sponsor
The palozi NBA season Championship is sponsored by InsurEco, Inc., 2535 Kettner Blvd #3A3, San Diego, CA 92101 (the “Sponsor”). Use of the palozi app and palozi.com is also governed by the palozi privacy policy.
2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Only calls made with a free play count toward a Championship. A free play comes only from the free daily play that every eligible player may claim once a day. Plays bought with points or with Tawa, and any other plays, never count toward a Championship score. This is a contest of skill, not a game of chance, and nothing in it is a wager.
3. Eligibility
The NBA season Championship is open to individuals who, at the time of entry, are 18 years of age or older and are legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. A player must have a palozi account signed in through Bio-ID with a verified phone number.
Employees, officers, directors, contractors and agents of the Sponsor, of palozi and of their affiliates, the reviewers who attest to contest results, and the immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their spouses) and household members of any of them, are not eligible to win. They may play and appear on a board, where they are marked “not eligible”.
palozi runs labeled house players that make picks from the oracle forecasts; they never take a prize, a payout or a place on a prize ranking.
Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws apply.
4. Contest periods
Each Championship has its own period. Only free calls that settle inside the period count, and the period is measured in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
- NBA season: October 20, 2026 at 12:00:00 AM UTC through April 11, 2027 at 11:59:59 PM UTC.
A Championship takes entries only while its status is live. The Sponsor may extend or shorten a period if it is needed to complete the contest fairly, and will post the change on this page.
5. How to enter
- Sign in to palozi with Bio-ID.
- Verify your phone number in your Bio-ID settings.
- Claim your free daily play (one a day), then use it as a free call.
Limit one account per person. A person who uses more than one account, or who lets another person use theirs, may be disqualified. Entries made by script, robot or any automated means are void.
Which calls feed which Championship: free calls on NBA games.
6. Scoring
A player’s score is their net points over free calls: the points won on their free calls, minus 200 points for each free play spent, counting free calls that settled as won or lost inside the period. A call that was voided and refunded does not count. Regular points and the regular season boards are separate and are not changed by a Championship. Points never cash out.
A player must have at least 10 settled free calls in the period to be eligible to win.
Results are decided by the contest rules and the signed data sources published for each contest, not by the Sponsor’s choice. Anyone can check a settled contest on its Proof page.
7. Tie-breakers
If players have the same score, the tie is broken in this order:
- more correct free calls;
- a higher share of free calls that were correct;
- the earlier time of the player’s last settled free call counted toward the score.
If a tie remains, the Sponsor will break it by a random drawing among the tied players.
8. Prize
- NBA season: $1,000 USD, to the one eligible player with the highest score.
One prize per Championship, so one prize in total. The approximate retail value of each prize is the amount stated. The prize is paid in U.S. dollars by ACH bank transfer. The winner supplies their bank details to the Sponsor during verification (section 10). The prize cannot be transferred, assigned or exchanged, and no substitution or cash equivalent is offered other than at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Points, plays and Tawa have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for the prize.
The Sponsor will pay the prize within 60 days after the winner has been verified.
9. Winner determination and notification
After the NBA season Championship ends and every call in its period has settled, the Sponsor will identify the eligible player with the highest score. The winner will be notified by email, at the address on their account, within 30 days after the period ends.
The winner must reply within 14 days of the notice. If the winner cannot be reached, does not reply in time, is found ineligible, or does not complete verification, the prize is forfeited and the Sponsor may award it to the next eligible player in rank order (an alternate winner), who will be notified and verified in the same way.
10. Verification and taxes
Before a prize is paid the winner must complete and return:
- an affidavit of eligibility;
- a liability release and, where permitted by law, a publicity release;
- a Form W-9 (or other tax form the Sponsor requires), and the bank details for ACH bank transfer.
The Sponsor will report prizes of $600 USD or more to the Internal Revenue Service on Form 1099. The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and any other costs of accepting and using the prize.
11. General conditions
The Sponsor may disqualify any person it finds to have tampered with the entry process or the operation of palozi, to have used more than one account, to have acted in violation of these rules, or to have acted with intent to annoy, abuse or harass. Accounts that share a device are reviewed, and may be disqualified if the Sponsor finds a violation.
If fraud, a technical failure or any other cause beyond the Sponsor’s control corrupts the administration, security or fair play of a Championship, the Sponsor may cancel, change or suspend it, and may then award the prize from among the eligible players whose results were not affected, or not at all.
12. Limitation of liability
By entering, players release and hold harmless the Sponsor, palozi, InsurEco and their affiliates, officers, employees and agents from any claim, loss or damage arising from participation in a Championship or from accepting or using a prize, to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or late entries, or for failures of any network, device, server or software, whether or not caused by the Sponsor.
13. Disputes and governing law
These rules and every dispute about a Championship are governed by the laws of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in San Diego County, California have exclusive jurisdiction, and each player consents to it.
14. Privacy
What palozi collects and how it is used is described in the palozi privacy policy at https://palozi.com/privacy. A winner’s name and state may be published as the winner of a Championship where the law allows.
15. Winners list
For the name of a winner (available after the winner has been confirmed), or a copy of these rules, email [email protected].
16. Apple
Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this contest in any way. The contest is not endorsed or administered by Apple. Questions and complaints about it go to the Sponsor, not to Apple.
